Karen Sanders began her law enforcement career in 1991 as a correctional officer with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama. In 1995 Karen attended the Georgia Police Academy through the pre-service program. Karen was employed with the West Point Police Department from 1996 to 2002 where she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.

In 2002 Karen began her career with the LaGrange Police Department and was appointed as the Accreditation Manager in 2005. Karen currently holds the rank of Sergeant and shares time between Accreditation, State Certification and the Office of Professional Standards.
