Karen Sanders began her law enforcement career in 1991 as a correctional officer with the Chambers County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama.  In 1995 Karen attended the Georgia Police Academy through the pre-service program.  Karen was employed with the West Point Police Department from 1996 to 2002 where she was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.  Karen began with the LaGrange Police Department in 2002 and worked as a Child Abuse Detective until she was appointed to the position of Administrative Liaison (Accreditation/Certification Manager) in early 2006. 

Karen has an Associates Degree from Southern Union State Community College and is currently working towards her Bachelors Degree at Columbus State University.
