Sgt Robinson began his law enforcement career with the City of Duluth Police Department in 1994 as a patrol officer, then a field training officer. After several years he transferred to the University of Georgia Police Department while he completed his associates degree in Urban Justice.

In 1999, Sgt Robinson accepted a position with the City of Suwanee Police Department as a patrol officer. It was that same year the police department was awarded it's initial State Certification and later, Sgt Robinson took over as the part-time certification manager. He subsequently lead the department to a successful re-certification in 2005.

On July 2007 the City of Suwanee Police Department began the process of becoming a CALEA accredited agency when Sgt Robinson became the department's first full-time accreditation manager.

Sgt Robinson holds a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from North Georgia College and State University and a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University.

He has a wife and two small children that takes up most of his time. He also enjoys running, hunting, and any other outdoor activity.
